Transcript for "Campfire Product Demo 7/22":
Hey, everybody. How's it going? This is Brad Dillon from Campfire. Glad y'all could join us today for this live, live podcast demonstration. I just wanna kinda go through this, who we are and kind of what our platform can offer you, overall. There's, you know, a couple people still shuffling in. I'll just wait a moment before I kick this thing off. Alright, everybody. I think we have enough, enough folks here to go and go go ahead and get going here. But, anyways, just to introduce myself before we dive in, I'm Brad Dillon. I'm a solutions consultant here at Campfire, licensed CPA, a big four experience. I spent the better part of the past ten years working in ERP systems in one way or another. So I've had a lot of experience coming up here to Campfire. But enough about myself. Let's dig into the the platform here real quick a little bit. Just, you know, who we are, we are we are an AI native ERP for high growth companies. So we're working with some of the hottest, you know, AI companies out there. You see in the bottom right, you see Posthog, Dekogon, just a couple of examples down there. We're offering five times faster close times for for our clients. You know, they're coming off of, you know, let's say NetSuite or maybe, like, you know, just an Excel layout for their closing. You know, Campfire may well, it helps them go a little bit helps them get through that a little bit quicker. We're handling $22,000,000,000 a year in transaction volume, with, you know, support for up to, for over a 180 different currencies. We basically are offering a all in one platform that can consolidate three or four three to five different tools that people are use currently using separately. You know, for example, like, you know, moving you know, if you're doing your period close outside of your ERP system, you can, you know, bring that in a campfire, get that done here. And we've we we have, processed 23,000,000 transactions to date thus far. Something else to call out here is we are SOC one and SOC two compliant. So we are, you know, full we're we're we're audit ready. We have companies that are publicly traded right now that are using the platform, and we have designed ourselves to, you know, be in compliance with those standards. So, you know, something else about ourselves as to why we're here, you know, what's the point of Campfire really, is that, you know, there's kind of a twenty year gap between the development of our, you know, legacy competitors and kind of the newer platforms we're seeing in the market. You know, you think about NetSuite, you think about Sage, QuickBooks. All these things were kind of developed, you know, before before the new millennium. You know, that's kind of where they got their start. And as a result, they're kind of designed fundamentally for that era. You know, by comparison, kind of a modern standard, modern platform is what I the comparison I make here is that we have, you know, Stripe is for payments. It's kind of a modern system. Brex or, like, Ramp for your AP, you know, for your AP processes. We aim to kind of modernize the ERP system in the same way that those software companies have done for, different segments of the accounting, space. And then, you know, that kinda brings us to the Campfire platform as a whole. A couple things about it. First of all, right out of the gate, we have our our built in AI capability called Ember, which is kind of if you're familiar with ChatGPT or Claude, it should be very familiar. You can ask it questions in plain language about your data, what's going on, and it can and you can kind of talk back and forth with it about your data. It also includes a pretty pretty hefty audit trail. So anything that is done inside the platform, you can dig up exactly what steps are followed to get to that, which is really important for maintaining auditability. And then down below, you see the core accounting and revenue automation, boxes. That's talking about our two modules. You know, unlike a lot of platforms out there where it's a la carte, it's like, oh, you wanna fix assets, you gotta pay this, amortization, you want that. With Campfire, you have two modules only, core accounting revenue automation, and everything is included in just those two, modules inside the platform. You know, kind of stepping away from this just real quick, I do wanna kinda get into a demo of the platform itself. Gonna hit escape here. Gonna come over here. So this is the dashboard you see when you log in to Campfire. This is just when you log in. You see a couple of key metrics here, overdue AR, you know, cash on hand, revenue for the prior, you know, full month, as well as a couple of quick links to anything that you, you know, use all the time. You can customize this to as you see fit. Over here on the left, you have the typical ERP system, you know, reports like income statements, balance sheet, cash flow, etcetera. Wanna sit through our income statement real quick. I'm going to filter this for year to date and apply. Change the cadence to be to be quarterly. Something to call out here is we do have support for non December 31 year end. So if you're, you know, ending on March 31, something like that, we do have support for other fiscal calendars. What we're seeing right here is a rolled up version, of all across all your entities. So, you know, in this situation, we have all these different entities, inside this Campfire environment. This is the consolidated total across all those entities. You can see the underlying entries that make these up by clicking on any of these values shown in the income statement. So, for example, 4010 usage based revenue, q one twenty twenty six. When I click on this $5,000, it's going to pull that up right here. Back inside of the income statement, something I wanna call out here is that, you you can just filter for, you know, entities as you see fit. Look at California first. And now when you drill into this, we'll look at grant revenue for q two twenty twenty six. Those filters have been applied accordingly. So q two, this this this account, and this entity. Something else to call out here is that we do have the ability to show, foreign currency income statements. So, for example, for The UK right here, we're gonna we're gonna click u use entity currency here. In this scenario, we're using The UK for all of Europe. So the entity currency in this setup is the euro for, for for this scenario. So you see the amounts in euros right here. These exchange rates are fed in to the platform from the European Central Bank by default. We do give users the ability to, if you want to put in manual, you know, translation rates. You do have that option if you if you see that, you know, that to be necessary. Closing out of this. Let's say we wanna see, like, just totals for, you know, UK and California. Close out of these. I'm gonna go over here and, go to group by here, columns, entity. And what you'll see here is that now we have, separate columns for each of these entities. So California, UK, and our total. When we're combining different, you know, different entities that have different currencies, we do translate this to dollars to be able to get the consolidated total view. One last thing on this is that you do have the ability to save this. You can come back to it later. We'll call this Brad's demo view. You can come back to this later right here. Something else to call up in the income statement is that Campfire's platform does have the ability to set up custom tags for all your transactions. So if you have, like, hey. You wanna sign a project or, like, a location to this transaction, you can set that up inside the platform. There's no limit on how many different tags you can set up. What I'm going to do here, we're gonna go to group by. We're gonna go to rows. So, for example, project for property name. These are customized custom built, tags that have been set up in here. When we go to project, go to OPEX, you'll see project five, project beta, etcetera. These are nestable. So if you wanna have, like, you know, country and then state and then city, it's going on and on and on. I've seen people even go so far as to have eight different, layers inside of one, you know, account. You can do that there. Stepping out of the income statement here real quick. I wanna start touch our customer reports very briefly. We do have these reports come out of the box, you know, for for rev for revenue and expenses, and on and on. You do have the ability to be able to customize version of your income statement right here by hitting create new report, going through it. I've built something, coming into this demo, already called this July 22 broadcast report. Just to show real quick, this is the income statement, values that we just saw a moment ago. This is editable. You can make new groups in here by going to edit, add custom group, add group. We're gonna call this separated OpEx. Create group. You now see this down below. You also notice that when I did that, these little black boxes appear or little black dots appear to the left of each of these accounts, which means you can now drag and drop these as you see fit. So if we wanna exclude, let's say, lease expense from this version of the income statement, grab this, put it in removed rows. It's now been removed from this operating expenses version or total. In our new category made down below, the separated OPEX, we're going to drag some of these, OPEXes in there. Drag this one meals, and we'll take sales commission in here. These are now grouped separately underneath the separated OPEX. The point is here is that you can drag and drop these accounts as you see fit and group them however you would like. So if you have, like, custom reports that need to go to management or investors, or whoever, you can set those up inside, this customer report builder. Finally, when you're done with, you know, how, you wanna have this laid out, you can hit save and then come back to it later. So just to show real quick, July 22. Back in reports. Go to search reports. I've been July 22, and there it is. You'll see our operating our our separated OPEX down below the year to date. Those accounts are still present inside here. Digging a little bit further into the into the platform here. So, you know, we have our reports, our income statement, our customized income statement. But let's say you wanna get, you know, beyond that. Let's say you wanna be able to really, you know sky's the limit as far as your reporting is concerned. You have, like, questions beyond what our, you know, prebuilt or configurable reports can answer. That's where our Embra AI comes in. It's available down here. I have another tab already open right here, for Embra. It you know, if you use ChatGPT or if you use Cloud before, this should look very familiar. It's just kind of, you know, talk to it in plain English. Difference being is that, you know, a Cloud or something like that is a generalist, whereas this is more of, like, talking to a CPA with thirty years of experience. The something else about this is that we do have a very, you know, heavy audit trail available for anything that you ask this. So all your queries and the steps that were, you know, followed to dig through your accounting data are visible, to auditors or other accounting personnel, if you need to, you know, dig that up later. But, you know, just to kinda kick off a prompt here and show you how it works, we're gonna type we're gonna type for, you know, show me my software expenses for, April 2026 presenter. So what it's doing now, it's digging through our our, you know, transaction data inside Campfire. It's gonna pull back, just a quick summary of that on here. Something else I wanna call out with this is that, we do have the ability to generate, you know, Excel files, CSVs, PowerPoints on here, by just, you know, requesting you know, build me a a, a board a board meeting deck covering our q one twenty twenty six financial performance. And Amber will dig through your your your transactions, compose a deck, and then you can give it feedback like, hey. Tweak this, tweak that until you get it exactly how you want. You even have the ability to upload files and say, hey. You know, for example, here's our logo. Make sure you have the PowerPoint presentation shown in these corporate colors, you know, found in this this logo that I've included with this this query. This is still running, but, one of the I will I will get to these in just a moment. Up here at the top, we have, you know, our agents, actions, usage, and settings. I'll get to those in just a moment after the after this finishes running. It shows our event our software expense as requested for April 2026 with a couple of key insights down below as well as your output files. So you have these downloadable CSVs. So just to show we can download these, click on this. Downloads. Open up in the other tab here. That's where it came in. So this is what we just downloaded. And what it's doing right now down below is that it's generating a paper trail. So that way, you can, when when this is done loading, click on this. Go to steps. This shows all the Python code that was used to generate this output. So if your auditors or other accountants wanna start wanna come back in here later, be like, hey. Where did you get this report from? How did Amber calculate this? Because everything is built inside the platform, you do have this deeper dive paper trail available. It isn't like, hey. You know, here's a query. Here's the output. Great. You actually can see what steps are followed to generate the output, which is important for, you know, auditability. Back here at the top, just real quick, I wanna step through, our agents and and other parts of the Amber, you know, functionality. Right here in agents, this is, you know, autonomously running functionalities. These ones in green are ones that come out of the box. You know, really, really popular ones are like our accounts receivable agents, for example. This one has the ability to match payments against invoices. So it's constantly doing that. You have your suggestions here. So example, you know, invoice 205, match this payment they that I found elsewhere in the system. Under settings, we have the ability to set even, like, an approval threshold, like, hey. Anything, you know, below this this amount with this degree of confidence, which you can adjust as you see fit, Go ahead and approve automatically, like, approve that match. Something else with agents is that you'll notice that there's, you know, a 100 custom agents in this demo environment. We've been using this a whole lot on our demonstrations. You can build an agent to do whatever it is you'd like. So for example, if you go into chat and say, hey. Build me an agent that will run a, flux analysis comparing this month's vendor spend versus last month's and do that every month, deliver it to me via email and Slack. You can build that from the chat and then save it. And then once it's saved, it will run, autonomously at whatever cadence you you you determine. Under here on actions, this is a listing of all the, you know, everything the agents has been have been doing at a glance, so it's easy to see what all the output has been. Usage allows you to track, what has been, you know, done inside of Ember, like, who's using who's doing what. I personally am a big time power user. I've been using this a lot for my demonstrations. Down here in settings, we have a couple more things. First of all, skills. So all skills is is, kinda like in Claude or ChatCPT. If you have a certain train of logic that you use all the time, like, you basically have, like, a, you know, set of steps you wanna save, you can save those here and then invoke them in chat. So back in the chat real quick, we'll call in, you know, AR report chat, type in backslash, and it gives us a listing of all of our skills that are available. Back in settings, one last thing is we do have MCP connectors available, which basically means that we can connect Ember to other software systems, and it can read through the data shown there. Really popular one would be like HubSpot, which we have connected here in a demo environment. Other commonly used ones include Ramp, Stripe, Avalara, and CryptoWorth recently. But you have the ability to hook up to anything or try to that has, you know, MCP server URL available. But, yeah, that's, you know, that's that's basically Amber. One last thing to call out about this is that any journal entries that are drafted and then posted from here will have a link back to, the Amber chat available. Kind of stepping out of this a little bit, I do wanna show our period closed checklist because I'd mentioned that, earlier during the during the, you know, slides portion of the presentation. We have our checklist right here. This is our month by month checklist. Actually, I have a whole section set up over here for it. Go right here. And, you know, I'm just gonna click into one of these months just to show what it's like. Go to view right here for July 2026. And then once we're in here, this shows, you know, all the steps that you could that that you'll need to do for, you know, closing out July 2026. So, like, you know, eliminating cross entry transact cross ending transactions, you know, reevaluation for any any eliminations, depreciating fixed assets. That's another good one. Yeah, this one has been run by some it's been run recently. I'm gonna hit reopen so I can show it on the demo. Hit reopen task here. What these have the ability to do is draft journal entries as appropriate. So, for example, you know, for depreciating fixed assets, I wanna show my fixed asset register real quick before I, you know, dig into this. This lives over here underneath the accounting section and under fixed assets. It's a listing of all our assets. We have this one called July 2026 laptops on that one. We have it for $10,000 put in service on July, twenty second. We have our depreciation scheduled down below, which includes the monthly amounts. You know, 80 we have $80 in the first month because it's a, you know, shorter truncated month. So we have a little bit lower amount. You do have the ability to run this depreciation individually, but what I'm going to show instead is that how this gets rolled up into the July depreciation entry from the closed checklist. I'm going to go over here to run on the far right. When I do that, it begins to draft a journal entry. To find this one, we're gonna find the one that is for $80 and has, editing in the tag, and it has Apple store in the vendor, and g and a in the department. Just scroll down inside this till we find that. It's right here. $80.65. It's part of the overall, depreciation entry. I'm gonna go ahead and hit save transaction on this. When I do that, what's happening is that a journal entry is getting posted for all of this, for the depreciation for July. All the fixed asset depreciation schedules are getting updated. And then also the the item itself on the closed checklist will be updated to say, completed. Once this finishes running, we can see this, over here. Let me refresh my fixed asset and see if it has completed. Taking a moment to post, but, while this finishes up, I'm gonna go ahead and show the rest of the closed checklist here. One thing I wanna call out on the on the period closed checklist here is that this template that you see for this checklist here oh, it seems like it it actually did post. Excuse me. This has now been posted over here just to kind of get back on TalkTrack here. You know, we can see who did this. So right there, it's me. I'm a super admin in this situation, so it was reviewed by me as well. In real life, you would have, you know, somebody else reviewing this before approval. And you can see a link to the journal entry right here. One thing I wanna call out with these with these, period closed checklists is that these are fully configurable, and would work with you as part of our implementation to get these, you know, set up for you correctly. You know, you can add an item to this listing right up here, top right. We're gonna do, just to give an example here, we'll do other. What I was like to show during my demos is, how you can add an EmberAI task to your close. So you can say, like, hey. Dig into, my my open invoices and look for any customers that have a an unusually large outstanding balance for July 2026. Then we're gonna hit save down below. Once we do that, this task is now set up in the bottom of our checklist. When we hit run, it's gonna open up a new Ember tab with that prompt right here. So anything you wanna have on your closed checklist that is, you know, AI powered, you do have the ability to set that up on here, as well as your standard, like, hey. You know, run a journal entry that does x y z, as part of this. One last thing I wanna show on the checklist here is that not only do you have the ability to modify an individual checklist, you can also edit the checklist template so that going forward, all these checklists will have x y z. So all you have to do is go to the close close edit close template screen, go down to add item in the bottom, change this, you know, frequency to see fit. So you want this to be every month. You make it like that, quarterly, annual, etcetera. And it'll only appear on those checklists at the cadence that you've chosen. One last thing I wanna call out here. We have a little bit of extra time left over. I do wanna step into the settings section briefly. So one thing I wanna talk about with Ember is that because everything is contained inside the Campfire platform, you do have the ability to, you know as as as often is the case inside of ERP systems, you have the ability to set up custom roles that determine what somebody can read, draft, write, etcetera. These permissions inside of Campfire extend into Ember. So, you know, basically, if you are an AP clerk, you're supposed to only have access to AP things. If your role only gives you that, that rule that those permissions will extend into Ember as well. So you can't get around it by just going to the AI system. These role role based permissions also extend into the approval workflow, area where you can, you know, you can set up role based, you you can you can incorporate those roles into your approval workflows as you see fit right here. One last thing I wanna call out inside of the, the the, you know, settings page is on the connections. We have all of these connections available to external software. The ones shown here, these are the ones that are that are self-service. And by that, I mean that, like, once, you know, as you go through implementation, you'll work with your our, Campfire's implementation team to get set up inside the inside the Campfire's system. And, these will be part of that implementation. But once that's done, because these are self serve, you can modify them yourself as you see fit. So for example, look at, like, the HubSpot integration. Click edit. You can change this how you see fit. And we have plenty of, you know, software to connect to. A longer list of this is available, on our website, if you'd, you know, if you'd like to dig dig a little bit further. I think we're just about at time, actually, but I do wanna leave a little bit of time here at the end for some questions if anybody wants to, go into anything. Wide open. Sure. So I do see, Donita, I see your I see your question about, about uploading, monthly usage or billing quantities. So that's part of our revenue section. So I just wanna show real quick under contracts here. If you have a contract with a customer, we do have the ability to upload usage just to show, like, Cartana contract here. How you would do that is go to usage right here. And this can either be, you know, plugged in via API. So, like, once you ever like, we have an open API we we have an API that's available. If the software that, you know, has the usage data is also as an API available, we can hook that up and get that fed over here. Gonna create usage data just to show an example here. This usage. So just showing you what this looks like manually. We do have the ability to have, like, tiered usage as well if you, you know, if you need that. I'm gonna do just keep it simple here. Start date, end date. Add usage line will do, you know, five. Rate will do 100. Create usage data. That information now appears down below in the usage section. It appears in your revenue schedule down below right here. And then, of course, to make the invoices, you know, basically, the you the the invoices can be automate automatically created for items that are scheduled. So if you have, like, subscriptions, that are happening in a regular basis, you can use schedule invoices to make invoices for, all those subscription line items on a contract. But for usage, you need to go to create invoice here. Click on this. Go to edit invoice. And I'm gonna go ahead and hit save invoice here. Once you've done that, an invoice is available right here or right here. Excuse me. And just to show what an invoice looks like, inside Campfire, I'm gonna go and download the, a PDF of this. We do have the ability to send invoices from Campfire directly to customers. This is what a sample invoice would look like. Of course, it would be your company's logo up here in the top left and your company's address and your company's payment information down below on this. Does that answer the question, or is there anybody else? I mean, if there if there's nothing else, folks, I mean, I guess we can, you know, maybe end a little bit early, I suppose. Okay. Well, thank you for joining us, everybody. And, oh, oh, okay. Donita, you got it. Got it. Awesome. Glad Glad glad to see that that that I can answer that, question for you, Donita. So thank you very much. Thank you very much, everybody. I'm gonna go ahead and stop sharing.
